Staff roles explained

Omni Store lets several people work in the same store, each with their own login. A person's role controls what they can see and do. This keeps your business safe — a cashier doesn't need to change pricing or remove team members.

There are six roles, from most to least powerful:

OwnerThe business ownerFull control. Cannot be removed. One per store.
AdminA trusted managerAlmost everything the Owner can do, including managing staff.
ManagerA shift or floor managerRun day‑to‑day operations and view the team and invitations.

What each role can do

This table shows the main areas. "View" means read‑only; "Manage" means create, edit, and delete.

This table is a practical summary. The exact buttons a person sees always follow their role — if an action isn't permitted, it won't appear or will be greyed out.

Important rules

A few safety rules are built in and can't be turned off:

  • The Owner can't be removed and the Owner role can't be reassigned to someone else from the staff screen. There is always exactly one Owner.
  • You can't remove yourself from a store.
  • You can't change your own role — someone with higher access has to do it. This prevents a member from quietly giving themselves more power.

How many people can I add?

The number of team members you can have depends on your plan:

  • Entry plans are single‑user.
  • The Team plan supports up to 5 active members.
  • Higher plans raise or remove the limit.

Pending invitations count toward your limit, and the Owner counts as one member. See Plans & pricing for the exact numbers, and Managing staff to invite people.
