WhatsApp integration
The WhatsApp integration connects your store to the WhatsApp Business Cloud API, so you can send receipts to customers, get alerts when stock runs low, receive a daily sales digest, and broadcast promotions - all through WhatsApp. You'll find it under Apps → WhatsApp.

Mobile view

All roles can share products via WhatsApp. Owners, Admins & Managers can configure the integration and manage messages.
Setting up
Before any automated messages can be sent, you need a WhatsApp Business account with Cloud API access from Meta.
- Go to Apps → WhatsApp → Settings.
- Enter your Phone Number ID and Business Account ID (both from the Meta Business dashboard).
- Enter your display phone number in international format (e.g.
+237 6XX XXX XXX). This is also where alerts and digests are sent. - Paste your Cloud API access token.
- Save, then click Verify to confirm the credentials. Omni Store calls the Meta API and shows your verified business name and quality rating.
Your access token is encrypted at rest and never displayed in full after saving.
You'll need a Meta Business account and a phone number registered with WhatsApp Business. Meta's own documentation walks through the setup - search for "WhatsApp Cloud API getting started" on developers.facebook.com.
What it can do
Receipts
When Receipts is switched on, every completed sale automatically sends a WhatsApp message to the customer - provided the customer has a phone number on file. The message includes the store name, transaction reference, total, and item count.
Receipts are sent in the background after the sale is saved, so they don't slow down checkout.
Low‑stock alerts
When Low‑stock alerts is switched on, Omni Store checks your inventory every 30 minutes. If any product falls to a low‑stock level, a WhatsApp alert is sent to the display phone number you configured. Each product is only flagged once - it won't alert again until the product is restocked.
Daily sales digest
When Daily digest is switched on, you receive a WhatsApp summary once a day at the hour you choose. It includes the date, number of sales, total revenue, your top 3 products, and a low‑stock count.
Broadcasts
Send a promotional message to a group of customers. Go to Apps → WhatsApp → Broadcasts, write your message, optionally attach a promotion name, and select your recipients.
Broadcasts are rate‑limited to 5 per hour per store, and each broadcast can reach up to 200 customers. Only customers who have not opted out of WhatsApp messages will receive them.
Re‑engagement
Omni Store automatically sends a re‑engagement message to customers who haven't made a purchase in 30 days. This runs daily with a 7‑day cooldown per customer, so nobody is messaged more than once a week. Up to 50 customers are contacted per store per run.
Publish / share a product
The Publish tab lets you compose a formatted product message - with the product name, price, and storefront link - that you can share via your phone's share sheet (WhatsApp, SMS, or any other app). This works for all roles and doesn't require the Cloud API to be configured.
Customer opt‑out
Customers can opt out of WhatsApp messages. Opted‑out customers are automatically skipped by broadcasts and re‑engagement. You can see and change a customer's opt‑out status from their customer record.
Message log
Under the Receipts, Alerts, and Broadcasts tabs you can see the history of messages sent, including the status returned by WhatsApp (delivered, failed, etc.).
Tips
- Fill in customer phone numbers so receipts can reach them automatically.
- Check your quality rating regularly in the Settings tab - a low rating from Meta can limit your sending ability.
- Use broadcasts sparingly. Targeted, relevant messages get better engagement and protect your quality rating.
- Review the message log after enabling receipts to make sure messages are being delivered successfully.
